Orange Coast College sophomore Hali Dickson captured the Orange Empire Conference singles title on Saturday (April 11) by fending off Annely Heinze of Riverside City College, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) in the championship match that went to a tie-breaker in the second set.
The Orange Empire Conference women's tennis championship tournament is underway at Saddleback College this week with no major upsets being recorded on the first day. All four of the top seeds in both singles and doubles cruised to victories on Thursday and will continue playing on Friday.
