Riverside goes undefeated to win the Orange Empire Conference title

Riverside City's women's tennis team went undefeated to claim the Orange Empire Conference. The Tigers went 10-0 in conference play and were never really challenged on their way to the title. They wrapped up conference with a 9-0 win over Saddleback on Friday, April 3 on the road.
It was Riverside's 15th straight win overall. The closest any teams got to RCC in conference play was 7-2. The Tigers beat Irvine Valley, 7-2, and Orange Coast, 7-2, in matches.
Leading the way for Riverside have been singles players Acacia Dettman, Annely Heinze, Sheila James, Kelli Reynolds, Marki Cardenas and Lacy Patton.
Riverside enters the California Community College Athletics dual team Southern California Regionals with a 7-2 record overall. The Tigers are seeded third in the regional seeded third. It will host No. 6 College of the Desert in the opening round.
The only teams seeded ahead of Riverside are Mt. San Antonio and Glendale.
