GWC’S Bergesen Earns All-Conference MVP Honors

Five members of the Orange Empire Conference champion Golden West College Rustlers earned all-conference honors last week, as voted on by the head coaches of each team.

After earning the 2012 OEC title, the Golden West women's water polo team went on to win the regional championship, and the CCCAA 2012 state title. Golden West's final overall record was an undefeated (29-0).

Golden West's freshman player, Melissa Bergesen was named the Orange Empire Conference MVP. When asked about this achievement, her coach, Kyle Kopp remarked, "it was well deserved, and a testament to her ability to focus on fundamentals and training."  Rustler coach, Kyle Kopp was voted one of the two coaches of the year in the OEC.

Fullerton College, who took second in the OEC, and second in the state added three sophomores to the All-Conference team.  After a well-played season, the team finished (29-6) overall, and (5-1) in conference play.  Fullerton's Coach Gabriel Martinez was voted Conference Co-Coach of the year.
