Kayla Scheevel and Madison May, a pair of outside hitters from the top two teams in conference, shared most valuable player honors and Monica Hayes-Trainer was selected as the coach of the year in the Orange Empire Conference.
Irvine Valley, which had already claimed the Orange Empire Conference title last week, ended the regular season with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-17 victory over Orange Coast at home on Wednesday night.
Irvine Valley captured its third straight Orange Empire Conference title with a 25-21, 25-27, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Cypress on sophomore night at IVC Friday.
A number of teams will have a shot at the conference title in 2015. Four teams are currently ranked in the top 25 in the state.
The long-time IVC volleyball coach won two state titles in 2014-15 - one in the fall with women's indoor volleyball and another in the spring with women's sand volleyball.
