Mounties win second-consecutive OEC event
Mt. San Antonio College captured its second consecutive Orange Empire Conference event to move into a tie for first place in the conference standings as the Mounties captured Monday's match at Ironwood Country Club by four strokes over host College of the Desert.

The Mounties saw Victoria Rodarte tie for medalist honors with a 5-over-par 77 as temperatures in the desert approached triple digits. Teammate Sarah Juelch added an 80 while Tiffany Lin came in at 88.
Desert sophomore Fumika Matsumoto also carded a 77 while her teammates, Kabrea Rosas (81) and Yi Chen Tsai (87) posted scores in the 80's.
Mt. San Antonio would post a four-person team score of 336 while Desert would post a score of 340 to distance themselves from the competition. Palomar placed third at 352 with Irvine Valley (366), Mt. San Jacinto (370), and Orange Coast (374) giving chase.
The teams will reload and tee it up at Oak Creek in a match hosted by Irvine Valley on Wednesday (Sept. 16) and again on Monday (Sept. 21) at Twin Oaks in a match hosted by Palomar.
