Riverside Track & Field Claims 25th-Consecutive Crown
Riverside City College won its 25th Orange Empire Conference Championship Friday, posting 452 points as a team. The Tigers won 18 of the 21 events to run away with their 16th-straight title.

Orange Coast College took second with 164 points, while Saddleback College rounded out the top three with 99 points. Golden West College grabbed fourth with 38 points, followed by Fullerton College with 36 points and Santa Ana College with three points.
Samuel Willis gave the Tigers an early 10 points after winning the decathlon with 5,665 points, while RCC swept the top four spots in the 3K steeplechase on the first day of the championships. Ernesto Ruiz won the event in 9:18.02 for the second straight year, before going on to win the 5K in 14:36.99 and the 10K in 31:24.31.
Anthony Ruiz (4:06.43) won the 1500-meter race for the Tigers, just edging out teammate Jack Slavin (4:06.81) by less than a second. Anthony Ruiz picked up his second individual championship in the 800-meter with a time of 1:58.93.
Tschaikowsky Brown led an all-Riverside 110-meter hurdles race, winning with a time of 14.97 seconds, and grabbed the championship in the 400-meter hurdles after clocking in at 55.69 seconds.
Riverside's Elijah Davis took home the 400-meter championship after crossing the finish line in 48.96 seconds.
Marcellus Linton grabbed the 100-meter title with a time of 10.61 seconds and won the 200-meter dash in 21.50 seconds.
Edward Ta'amilo swept all three throwing events. The sophomore Tiger won the hammer with a mark of 53.98 meters, posted a throw of 16.57 meters in the shot put, and took home the discus championship with a mark of 55.57 meters – over 10 meters further than his competition.
RCC's Quinten Flowers won the long jump championship with a mark of 6.71 meters and took home the title in the triple jump (14.15 meters).
The Tigers' relay teams won both events, with the 4x100 team finishing in 41.70 seconds, while the 4x400 team won in 3:19.67.
OCC's Caeden Connell won the high jump with a mark of 2.00 meters.
Saddleback's Daniel May won the javelin throw for the second year in a row, finishing with a toss of 57.50 meters.
The Bobcats went one-two in the pole vault, with freshman Micah Krosby taking first with a mark of 4.40 meters.
