MCCOLM WINS INDIVIDUAL OEC TITLE - DESERT CLAIMS TEAM SHIP - ALL-OEC TEAM
Victor Valley College's Brady McColm finishes the 2026 season as the individual champion with shooting 639 overall (71.0 average).
Eight teams battled the cold and wind Monday at the Orange Empire Conference Championship at the Apple Valley Golf Course, with The College of the Desert coming out victorious.
The Roadrunners won the overall championship after finishing the year with a 62-8 record and earned their spot in the 3C2A SoCal Regional. Joining COD from the OEC are Victor Valley College, Cypress College, Riverside City College, and Orange Coast College.
Victor Valley's Brady McColm was named the OEC Men's Golfer of the Year after boasting the lowest scoring average over the year, while the Rams' Derrick Williams was named the OEC Men's Golf Coach of the Year.
The Rams won the first round of the OEC Championship, carding a 301 as a team, while the Tigers followed five strokes behind to take second. RCC's Ashton Spaulding boasted the lowest individual score of the first round, finishing with an even-par 71.
In the second round, COD won with the best score of the day, posting a 293 as a team. Mason Montgomery helped the Roadrunners win the round, shooting a one-under 70 to close the day.
Three individuals also earned a spot in the 3C2A SoCal Regional: Mt. San Antonio College's Hayden Beltran and Jonathan Melton, along with Cuyamaca College's Alex Morgano.
The 3C2A SoCal Regional takes place next Monday at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
