LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Chris Devenski former Golden West Baseball standout earned his first career world series victory Wednesday night in a wild finish.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Chris Devenski former Golden West Baseball standout earned his first career world series victory Wednesday night in a wild finish.
Devenski a Cerritos HS grad attended Golden West in 2009 and 2010 before transferring to Cal State Fullerton and being drafting by the White Sox in 2011. He came into the game in the bottom of the 10th inning and got the Dodgers Chris Taylor to fly out to center field to end the inning.
The bottom of the 11th inning wasn't easy but he battled through a solo home run by Culberson to bring the game within a run and got Puig to swing at low change-up to end the game and earn the win 7-6.
Devenski threw 1 1/3 innings giving up one run on one hit and striking out one. Game 6 comes back to Los Angeles on Tuesday 10/31.
