His teams qualified for the post-season playoffs 21 times, reached the regional finals 11 times, and qualified for the state championship tournament seven times. His teams reached the semifinals of the state tournament five times during a seven-year span (2001-2007), winning the state title in 2002. Brummel was instrumental in helping over 100 former Gauchos continue their education and basketball careers at the four-year level.
